What Makes a Good Weight Loss Or Fat Loss Program?

There is a huge difference between people who achieve their fitness goals and those who don't. Here are the keys to a program that can help you achieve your fitness, fat loss and weight loss goals.

Must have strength training

Too many people try to lose fat without going on a properly designed strength training program. The problem is that when you try to lose fat by eating less, the body responds by losing weight. Strength training makes sure that the weight that you lose will be ugly unwanted fat, rather than your beautiful, firm muscle. A personal trainer will help you design a strength training program that not only preserves your muscle but also help you burn calories 24 hours a day, every day. This will be a far superior program to jogging, or swimming.

Must include nutrition

Some people try to lose fat by "out-training" bad nutrition. This is close to impossible. You require about 3 hours of physical activity per day to be allowed to eat almost anything you like without getting fat. That is an unrealistic amount in today's busy lifestyles. So good nutrition which includes lots of vegetables, meat, nuts, eggs, and healthy fat like fish oils, is essential.

Must have habit formation

Once you are on the road to losing your unwanted weight or losing fat, you need to think of the next step. Keeping it off! People who are formerly fat are more likely to go back to that state unless they find a long term solution to keeping the unwanted fat off. The key is habit formation.

Habit formation is developed by the correct mindset. That mindset is not "oh poor me I can't eat cake or else I'll balloon up again" the correct mindset is "I don't eat cake often because I am a fit, lean, healthy person it is simply not what I do!"

What also helps is a healthy community. Stick around people who also have similar fitness goals as you do and you are far more likely to keep your habits and thus your fat loss results.
